So it’s been quite a while since I last wrote a post. I’ve been busy working a job that I despise and also just lazy. Anyways, I’ve decided to do a few a things with my life. Step one, find a new job. I’ve been working on this for a while and so far no luck but I will continue. Step two, focus more on doing things that I enjoy and could perhaps further my career. I’ve got a couple of ideas for things that I want to do and will hopefully get to work on soon. I’m not going to actually go into detail just yet because I don’t have everything ready to go but soon…

This week Halo 4 came out, I’ve been working on the campaign in my spare time and really enjoy it. Next week Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 comes out, so hopefully I’ll have Halo finished by then.

I just want to wish everybody a Happy New Year! This past year has been full of ups and downs for me. In fact, probably the biggest gap between the highs and lows that I’ve experienced in years. Through it all I have definitely learned and grown a bit. 2011 has taught me that things will always change, you can’t count on everything, it’ll be ok, and above all else It is what it is. Which is my motto, it is what it is. Those five words can solve many problems and eliminate many worries.

To everybody who takes the time to read this, have a great and blessed new year. I for once am confident about things and have no GAF about anything. I mean, in the end does it really matter?

Another Day

So here I am, still working on editing some video. Things are up and running smoothly on the new computer. I’ve made a few small changes to site, hopefully making it look better and maybe even a bit more professional (though who am I kidding?) Since I’m making very very little money making videos for people, I’m still applying for various jobs around middle Tennessee. Though most people seem to not want to hire me (by most, I mean everybody) Anyways, wish me luck.

Almost a disaster

So, this past week my computer decided that it no longer liked Windows. Long story short, it didn’t matter what I did to try to fix it Windows would not load. Luckily I keep a copy of Linux on a DVD laying around for when problems like this pop up. This meant I was able to get onto my laptop and copy everything over to this external hard drive I bought not too long ago (funny how that works out) Now I could’ve just reinstalled Windows and called it a day, but where’s the fun in that? I’ve been meaning to get a desktop that has more processing power and whatnot than my laptop so video editing would be a little easier. I got extremely lucky and Best Buy had a great deal on a Gateway desktop with an Intel i5, 8gb RAM, and 1TB hard drive. So I’ve got this guy up and running now and definitely can’t complain. As for the laptop, it’s going to get a fresh install of Linux and will be used for browsing the internet. Of course this means I’ve finally upgraded to Windows 7 also.

So I’m working on updating my Photography page and have been messing around different ways to display my photos. I like to keep it Flash based or java, because loading a whole new html page just to see the next 6 or so photos is just stupid. Anyways, one potential solution I have found looks like this:

It’s cool because it utilizes my Picasaweb which makes it SUPER easy to manage the album, but to view it you have go to full screen. There are other options, but I just haven’t found one that has everything I want. Eventually I will.

Real quick

A lot of changes have been going on in my life currently, so for all two of you who read this that means nothing. That being said, I’m pretty sure I’m going to have a lot more free time on my hands and I been playing a lot of online games in Elitist Gaming, they are great to clear my head and to have fun in the meantime, and this inspired me in doing another new thing, and I’m thinking about creating a web comic. I’m not going to get into details just yet but I think I have a good idea.

Well, last night I got a little bored and set up a couple more accounts. First thing was a LinkedIn, which you can find my profile here. That is of course supposed to be a slightly more professional deal, but we’ll just see how that goes.

Next I finally got a working invitation for Google+. Long story there, but you can find me here. I’m also trying to get the Google +1 button to work here on my site. Not sure how easy that will be, but let’s cross our fingers.

So it’s been over a month since my last update. My bad. Nothing terribly exciting has happened really. I went to New York City and got to see a taping of the Jimmy Fallon show which was pretty cool. On the same trip we stopped in New Jersey and had some fun there also. I had the opportunity to photograph/film a wedding anniversary and that was pretty fun. I was also put on orders for doing funerals with the Guard. That’s nice because it pays a little better than just getting paid per day, but it’s no career.

I spent a week in Smyrna for my Annual Training with the 129th Army Band. That was an adventure, I don’t feel like we really accomplished much but those of us staying in the barracks made the most of it. We played a lot of ultimate frisbee and consumed numerous adult beverages, so no complaints there.

I’m still looking for real job and have thrown my resume to a few places. Feel free to cross your fingers, pray, do a dance, whatever you want to help me out. Really, I’d like to move to a new town with a new job, but we’ll just see.

And finally, yesterday I celebrated a birthday. I’m not going to say which one but I promise I’m older then you think.
